WHO WE ARE...

The Northeast Maximo User Group (NEMUG) is a user community promoted by and for IBM Maximo users in the Northeast, United States. The NEMUG was created in 2020 by merging the New York and New England Maximo User Groups.

Bob Fyke

Parsons Corporation / Con Edison / Orange and Rockland Utilities

Bob is an EAM consultant with years of experience in the utility industry. He is a retiree of Con Edison of NY where he has implemented innumerable EAM solutions using Maximo and other applications. He has continued this work as a consultant, with Parsons Corp, helping Con Edison and Orange and Rockland with numerous projects. During his 20 years with Con Ed, he has worked with power generation, steam distribution, transmission, substations, and Central Engineering. Currently, he is managing multiple Maximo projects. Bob is past chair of the Northeast MUG and the New York MUG. He is a graduate of the State University of New York and Manhattan College, and lives in New York’s Hudson Valley. When he’s not working on Maximo or asset management, he loves beekeeping and life in the country.

George Perry

George has worked in the Electric Utility Industry for almost 40 years. He started his career with Orange and Rockland Utilities at the Lovett Generating Station where he served in various positions in fuel handling and plant maintenance. After several years, he made the move to operations at the company’s hydro-electric facilities. As deregulation in New York State followed, George remained with the Hydro-Electric Operations group. Now with Southern Energy (later Mirant) George was promoted to Senior Hydro Plant Operator, where he was responsible for the development of and training on the lockout / tagout, station and substation switching, and plant operations programs.

After a twenty-one-year career, he joined New York Power Authority in 2009 as a Technical Training Instructor responsible for Operations at the Blenheim – Gilboa Hydro-Electric project. After a few years, George filled a void in the Safety Training field where he helped to revise and develop many of the company’s safety training programs. Most recently, George joined the Asset Performance Group under Strategic Operations where he is responsible for training and change management for Asset Management, Maintenance, and Information training including Maximo and related systems for all NYPA employees.

George also recently served as the Management Committee Chair for the Maximo Utility Working Group.

John Connell

Chief Executive Officer, JFC & Associates / NEMUG Program Sponsor

John Connell is the founder and CEO of JFC & Associates, a leading IBM Maximo partner and long-time supporter of NEMUG. With over 40 years of experience in enterprise asset management (EAM), John is known for his hands-on leadership in delivering innovative asset strategies across utilities, transportation, higher education, and government sectors.
A retired U.S. Navy Commander with a background in marine engineering, John has led major operational initiatives, including work with the Titanic Discovery Team at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Since 2001, he has guided JFC in implementing large-scale Maximo solutions nationwide, helping clients achieve asset visibility, reliability, and performance.
John remains a passionate advocate for knowledge-sharing across the Maximo community and continues to drive innovation through JFC’s CONNEX digital twin platform and EAM accelerators.

Apexa Dave

Systems Specialist, Con Edison, NYC

Apexa Dave is an accomplished IT leader with extensive experience across Finance, Enterprise Applications, Information Technology, and Project Management.

She currently serves as a Systems Specialist in Con Edison’s IT Work Management Solutions organization, where she leads efforts in enterprise asset and work management, system modernization, and process optimization. Her expertise includes IBM Maximo migrations, Work Management Solutions, and large-scale integration projects that streamline legacy environments into unified, efficient platforms. Apexa is known for combining strategic vision with disciplined execution to deliver measurable improvements in performance, cost efficiency, and user experience.

Beyond her professional role, she actively supports community and volunteer initiatives, contributing to organizations such as the Red Cross and Rise Against Hunger, and participating in multiple employee resource groups and committees. She also serves as Secretary of the Northeast Maximo Users Group.

Klaus Roder

Data & Al Enthusiast, IBM

Klaus is a passionate advocate for Data & AI, as well as Asset Management and Sustainability. He is driven by helping organizations transform their data into actionable insights powered by AI. With a blend of deep technical expertise and a strong business mindset, Klaus has consistently inspired clients and successfully brought innovative products and features to market.

A dedicated proponent of Design Thinking, Klaus uses this methodology to foster creativity and drive innovation. He is also deeply committed to leadership, people management, and mentorship, believing that a focus on team growth and development cultivates motivated, high-performing environments.

Klaus has shared his insights at numerous industry conferences and events, including O’Reilly Artificial Intelligence, TechXchange, IBM Think, and various user groups. He has also led many executive briefings and workshops, and regularly lectures in the Organizational Design (M.A.) program at the University of Nürtingen-Geislingen (HfWU) in Germany.

Jonathan Desmarais

Information Systems Manager for Facilities Engineering, Boston Children’s Hospital

Jonathan is a healthcare IT leader with over 20 years of experience modernizing software solutions within healthcare facilities and engineering operations.

He currently serves as Information Systems Manager at Boston Children’s Hospital, leading cross-functional teams focused on application support, data management, user experience, and compliance-driven system improvements.

Jonathan brings deep expertise in healthcare facilities technology, particularly EAM systems, with a strong focus on aligning technical solutions with real-world operational needs. As a Committee Member of the Northeast Maximo Users Group, he is passionate about knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and strengthening the user community.

Outside of work, Jonathan is deeply committed to community service and youth development. A father of four boys, he mentors youth as a scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America and as a coach for youth soccer and flag football. An avid runner, he has completed the Boston Marathon as a member of the Boston Children’s Hospital team, raising funds in support of the hospital’s mission. He has also been a dedicated charity runner in the Falmouth Road Race for over ten years, supporting the Sturge-Weber Foundation.

Parikshit Daware (Parik)

Director of Asset Intelligence Solutions, New York Power Authority

Parikshit Daware (Parik) is the Director of Asset Intelligence Solutions at the New York Power Authority, bringing over 18 years of experience in technology solutions and digital transformation within various industries including Utilities, Railroad, and Manufacturing.

In his current role, Parik oversees Reliability Centered Maintenance and Technology programs, driving initiatives such as  Reliability Centered Maintenance, Digital Worker Mobile solutions, Robotics and UAS, Artificial Intelligence and Analytics, Sensor deployment and other digital transformation programs. His leadership is pivotal in supporting asset management objectives and advancing asset performance management goals, ensuring the New York Power Authority stays at the forefront of innovation and operational excellence.

Sean Connell

EAM Sales Associate, JFC & Associates

Sean runs the front end of the deal cycle and makes things happen. With 3 years focused on IBM Maximo sales and a broader background closing across multiple industries, he cuts through noise, gets straight to what matters, and moves people to action fast. At JFC & Associates, he builds real relationships quickly, turns conversations into revenue, and pushes deals from first contact through execution without losing momentum. He doesn’t sell ideas that sit on a slide deck. He brings solutions that fix real operational problems and make teams perform better immediately. His maritime background keeps everything grounded. If it doesn’t hold up in the field, it doesn’t get sold.

Matt Midas

VP Sales and Business Development, JFC & Associates

Matt has been involved in maintenance and reliability for over 30 years.  A graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, he has served aboard US flagged merchant vessels and was commissioned in the US Navy serving aboard the USS Jesse L Brown, FF1089, responsible for operations, maintenance, engineering, and safety programs.  He has worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he qualified for S5W and S6G reactor plant overhauls and worked on several submarine overhaul projects. He also held positions at ServiceMaster Facilities Management where he was responsible for the maintenance and operations of 186 buildings in Washington, DC, including all aspects of asset management, work execution, inventory management, and planning and scheduling.  Matt has been part of the Maximo community since 1994, holding various positions at organizations helping customers improve asset management and reliability programs.   With his current role at JFC & Associates, he continues to help customers across many industries improve the use of EAM systems, maintenance/reliability processes, overall data quality, and digital twins.  He has always strived to help customers implement a culture of continuous improvement with an eye to the future. 

What We Do...

The NEMUG provides a forum for IBM Maximo users to exchange information, methods and experiences, improve asset and work management practices and processes in the variety of industries from which our members come.  

The NEMUG provides a formalized space where members can openly participate in conferences, workshops, webinars, training, and general discussions showcasing their success stories and providing a forum for continual growth in the use of IBM Maximo to support enterprise asset management best practices and associated technologies.

  1. Provide a Maximo support network to exchange information and knowledge with other members.
  2. Provide member experiences concerning the application of IBM Maximo, development of databases for the purpose of asset management and work management improvements.
  3. Provide information directly to and from IBM on technology, usage, and user experiences.
